  2. I hate to say it, but if you can budget $100, visit a running store. Proper shoes are so important and not usually cheap, but they'll last you six months. Your shins are probably hurting from cheap shoes. At a running store, they'll analyze your gait as find the best pair of shoes for you to keep you injury free.
Another tip for shin pain is a foam roller. It's basically a hard cylinder of foam that you roll across your muscles to loosen up knots and pain.

  3. i knew that was the right answer erin.

i told myself "let's see how it goes...if you make it two weeks then maybe you are serious about it."

guess i'll have to find the money somewhere. now that it's been two weeks!

  4. yes! running shoes are so important!.i couldn't afford top of the line shoes but i got a pair of Adidas marathon 10s i think they're called. very lightweight. when i first started i ran in nike shox and they were WAY too heavy for my feet and i ran into the same problem. if you find something you like check zappos and sometimes Ebay has brand new shoes.
